Todmorden
A village surrounded by forest in a small valley. The river that runs through the whole of Brokenstone Valley passes along the village's southern side. Great, dark cliffs rise to the north and south. A tall palisade surrounds the village. An old, stone-paved dirt road ends at the village's great iron gate, on either side of which a dozen or so stakes have been erected, each topped with a wolf's head.
Baron Vargas rules the village with an iron, compulsively cheerful grip. He firmly believes that joy and happiness are the key to keeping Cyran and the valley's darkness away from the village. Week after week of continuous carnivals take up much of the villagers' time, and those who resist are captured and taken to the pillory in the village square for punishment.
