Silverymoon

Silverymoon is the center of the Grand Duchy of Silverymoon and the ancient seat of the Tempest family. It's a large and beautiful city on the Rauvin River. It's often called the pearl of the north, full of old trees and gardens, curving lines, and tall towers.

The city is considered the north's center of learning and has several important academies. The most important of these are the Utrummin musiikkikonservatorio and the center of the Watchful Order.

The city is also home to one of the largest libraries, the Sages' Archive, second only to the library of Candlekeep. Adjoining the library is also the Map Room.

History and economy

After the fall of Netheril, some scattered groups of people of Netherese origins lived in the area. Only after 650 years after the fall, the first permanent settlements were built in the area. By now the city is almost 1000 years old, with a population of 30000.

Family of Tempest has held the city for last centuries, developing it into a capital of the region, center of learning.

Port of Silverymoon is one of it's most important aspects. The whole of Rauvin valley from Rivermoot to Jalanthar, with farms dotting the riverbanks, feeds Silverymoon (and Everlund) and it's large population.

Constant stream of grain, wood, wool and spices keep the river traffic busy. Salt and Silver travel from the north, copper, tin and small bit of iron from the nearby mountains.

Trade route to Everlund is handled mostly via the river, as it's much faster and less treacherous than the hills. Traderoute to Sundabar and beyond is usually closed for winter.

Northern trade route to Adbar is vital for iron.
