Valindra Shadowmantle

A member of the Luskan Arcane Brotherhood. With Luskan currently in turmoil and the Arcane Brotherhood's leader missing, Valindra has settled in Everlund. She knows that the region's cities are trying to form a joint confederation, so Valindra has taken it upon herself to learn as much as possible about it and throw a wrench in the works. Malvin Draga has been an excellent research subject for her. Malvin's greed led him to smuggle a memory-loss drug, from which Malvin earns good income, but which also means he's in Valindra's grip.

Valindra, however, doesn't directly deliver the narcotics to Malvin. For this she has hired middlemen. A merchant in Zhentarim's service, Gauward Emys of Thornhold, assembled a group that procures the narcotic from Luskan and delivers it to Everlund. For their operations they've acquired a base in Everlund, which happens to be Rudolf's estate. Rudi's former roommate in Waterdeep, Helbert, happened to be a Luskan spy and a doppelganger. Using his abilities, he read the information about the estate from Rudi's mind, and once Valindra had that information, she decided to make use of it. "Rudi" arrived in Everlund in good time to claim his inheritance.
